In seinen
Centre).
Siegfried Lehmann completed his training as a graphic artist and designer at the school of applied arts and
at the school of graphic and design in Düsseldorf.
For more than 20 years he is a freelance artist and graphic artist with his own studio. His main activities
are oil and acrylic paintings, 3D-art as well as sculptures of wood and plastic.
In his artworks, Siegfried Lehmann repeatedly puts ideas from every day´s reality into geometric-poetic
compositions of great clarity, combined with suggestions from the subconscious. The issues of our time
are reflected in his works, shown in his fantastic-realistic-subjective imagery. At the same time, he is not
fixed on an art style or a genre, but his work is characterized by diversity, variety and the interplay of
assorted styles, combined with new unprecedented ideas. His spectrum ranges from abstract or graphic
representations to surreal-bizarre. In his latest works, Siegfried Lehmann intensively has dealt with both
3D-art and and figurative representation, thus bringing a whole new aspect to his paintings.
Siegfried Lehmann presents his artworks at international art fairs, in museums and galleries among others
in Beijing, Miami, New York, City, Las Vegas, Florence and Daugavpils (Mark Rothko Art Centre).
SIEGFRIED LEHMANN is a German artist, author of paintings where ideas taken from everyday reality
fell in fantastic settings. A genuine painting where shapes and colors give voice to the suggestions of the
unconscious in a geometric-poetic transcription of great incisiveness. Equipped with an extrovert
temperament, like of a free spirit that move away from him too narrow labels, the artist comes to eclectic
miscellanies of ideas and styles, from which take shape worlds of shimmering graphic patterns. Through a
methodical desecration of the figurative tradition Lehmann inserts into the two-dimensionality of the
support, the dynamic effect of the movement.
The sparkling of colors and lights intertwines in a frantic dance that makes resonate each shade. In
Siegfried Lehmann’s artworks, the eye of the observer is literally mesmerized by the repetition of vivid
geometric patterns, unknowingly slipping into the psychedelic worlds of an easygoing and colorful
abstraction.

SIEGFRIED LEHMANN
Keith Haring argued, "The contemporary artist has a responsibility towards humanity. He has to continue
his celebration; he must oppose the dehumanization of our culture.” Following this credo, German painter
Siegfried Lehmann accomplishes a lively narrative through captivating compositions filled with geometric
and graphic art components. Appealing to the viewer’s subconscious, Mr. Lehmann navigates his paintings
to reach a balance between the figurative and the abstract. Seeking to establish an alternate reality in
which social relationships are prioritized over digital technologies, Mr. Lehmann’s art investigates the
human condition through his distinctive artistic identity.
Eagerly accepting the challenge of finding a solution to artistic problems posed by both his imagination
and by his mediums, Mr. Lehmann’s subject matters may begin with realistic images, but may also
include fantastical, whimsical, or abstracted forms. By combining multiple images, subjects and symbols,
then revealing them from different viewpoints, unexpected and imaginative results are obtained.
Contrasting organic forms create complex relationships as they overlap within an abstracted dynamic
background, and there is a subtle change of color and density as his hard-edge band styled produces
vibrations and illusions of spatial expansion. Cool and expert, Mr. Lehmann judiciously planned
geometric paintings coordinate a close color rapport with considerable finesse, and his spectral colors exist
independently in space, without altering the over-all forms of the surface, or the complexities of the
structure itself.
With a contemporary visual vocabulary, Siegfried Lehmann’s oeuvre manifests the dynamic placement of
colors and shapes in a carefully controlled aesthetic environment. Building an atmosphere with simple,
clean lines infused with variety of textures, shapes, and layers, this gifted artist utilizes his background in
design to create an active image where line, color and form coalesce and float freely in space, creating a
complex relationship between the individual elements and the overall composition.
Letting the work speak for itself, each painting is open to the interpretation and the impression of the
viewer. Excelling in technicality and precision, the complexity and thoughtfulness of each composition
has earned Siegfried Lehmann recognition both within Germany and internationally. Exploring the
mediums of oil, acrylic, and 3-Dimensional art, Mr. Lehmann has presented his artwork at a multitude of
international art fairs, museums, and galleries around the world.
